Design review, field testing, compliance assessment and technical recommendations for safer and more reliable electrical infrastructure.
What we provide
We deliver engineering studies and field-based assessments to improve earthing performance, identify non-compliant points, manage lightning risk and support safer operation of critical electrical systems.
Our work covers earth grid resistance testing, earthing design, lightning protection studies, safety assessment, standards compliance review and engineering recommendations for both new and existing facilities.
Our expertise
We provide a broad range of services covering soil analysis, earth grid design, earthing verification, lightning protection, fault current distribution, EMI mitigation and training.
Soil electrical characteristics are the foundation of an effective earthing system. We assess site conditions using proven measurement techniques and accurate soil models.
Wenner Method, Schlumberger Method, IEEE 81, AS/NZS practices
We analyse how fault current flows through the earthing network and surrounding structures to identify high-current zones and improve safety performance.
Fault pathways, current split, equipment exposure and personnel safety
We design earth grids tailored to site conditions, fault levels, soil properties and operational requirements for safe energy dissipation.
AS/NZS 3000 (where applicable), AS 2067, IEC 61936-1, IEEE 80
We assess existing earthing systems using advanced modelling and site data to identify deficiencies and propose upgrades for compliance and resilience.
Advanced modelling platforms including XGSLab
We perform detailed safety calculations to evaluate voltage gradients during fault conditions and reduce the risk of dangerous touch and step voltages.
AS 2067, IEEE 80, AS/NZS 3000
Field testing verifies that the installed earthing system performs as intended and continues to meet project and standards requirements.
Fall of Potential Method, Current Injection Test Method
We design lightning protection systems to reduce the risk of direct strikes, side flashes and surge-related damage to structures and equipment.
AS 1768, IEC 62305, NFPA 780 (if applicable)
We develop mitigation strategies to protect sensitive systems from unwanted electromagnetic interference in industrial and utility environments.
AS/NZS IEC 61000 series and relevant EMC practices
We provide cathodic protection solutions to help prevent corrosion in pipelines, tanks and other buried or exposed metal structures.
ISO 15589, NACE standards
We help engineers, technicians and management teams strengthen their understanding of earthing, lightning protection and EMI mitigation through practical training sessions.
Best practices, standards awareness, testing knowledge and safe design principles
Past Project Experience
Client Location: 9 Egret St, Kooragang NSW 2304, Australia
Completed detailed earthing and lightning protection study in a 33kV / 2.5MVA substation in accordance with AS/NZS 3000 and IEEE 80, ensuring safe dissipation of fault currents, controlled step and touch voltages, and overall system compliance.
Client Location: PNG
Delivered earth grid resistance testing and engineering assessment across multiple oil and gas facilities, including testing of earthing systems using fall-of-potential and clamp-on methods. Assessed system performance against applicable standards, identified high-resistance and non-compliant earthing points, and provided engineering recommendations to enhance electrical safety, ensure compliance, and improve long-term asset reliability under challenging site conditions.
Client Location: NSW, Australia
The Oura Reservoir Project involved conducting an earthing design and lightning protection study for the Pump Station and Dosing Building. The objective was to ensure the safety and reliability of the electrical infrastructure by evaluating potential lightning risks and implementing effective protection measures.

Why these studies are crucial
Effective earthing and lightning protection are critical for electrical safety, asset protection and compliance. Poor earthing performance or inadequate lightning protection can increase risk to people, equipment and ongoing operations.
With the right analysis, testing and engineering recommendations, facilities can reduce non-compliance, improve resilience and strengthen long-term system reliability.
Reduce risks associated with dangerous touch and step voltages under fault conditions.
Assess earthing and lightning protection performance against applicable standards and project requirements.
Strengthen protection of substations, process facilities, buildings and infrastructure from electrical fault and lightning-related risks.
Detect high-resistance and non-compliant earthing points before they become operational or safety issues.
Improve maintainability and reliability of electrical infrastructure under challenging site conditions.
